"Doing More With Less: A Survival Guide to Working in a Reduced Work Environment"
Ever been the head of a department of one? Has your head sported multiple hats? Do you find yourself screaming for more resources; resources that would allow your organization to succeed and flourish? If the answer is yes then Paul Artale has also felt your pain. Paul spent several years working at small, private liberal arts colleges. Before that he was a special education teacher in a high needs school that did not have the infrastructure to meet student needs. Growing up Paul worked for the family business: a small company that struggled to fight the giants in the industry. Even today Paul works for the Department of Student Life at Michigan State University- a department that has only 6 full-time staff members on a campus of over 47,000 students. Quite simply: Being understaffed and outgunned is something Paul is used to but in every case he was able to succeed. It isn’t easy but during the course of this presentation Paul will take you through his principles of success.
By the end of the program participants will: * Be able to understand key elements in enhancing and growing their work environment
*Have an action plan for success
*Learn how to speak "managerese" to help get what they want. As an added bonus Paul will tell you how to keep your sanity as well!!

Paul Artale works at the Department of Student Life at Michigan State University in East Lansing, is a member of Mid-Michigan ASTD and member of the Education Planning committee.
