Trust flows through systems: it exists between individuals, within teams, across organizations, and even in technology. And yet, while we all know what 'trust' is, it's complex: hard to earn, over time, easy to fracture, often lost. As we consider how to make our organizations more socially dynamic, connected, agile, effective, able to change, we must consider how to understand, and build upon, the Landscape of Trust.
In this session, Julian will share the global Landscape of Trust research project, the largest study in the world. We will explore the ways that people describe trust, the strategies we can employ to nurture it, and the taxonomy of trust itself: from absent to blind. We will also consider the relationship between 'trust' and 'mistrust', and how we can build an invested culture, if we can master this elusive quality.
