Coaching for Professional Performance Improvement

People and the organizations they belong to benefit from honest, objective communications and that includes giving and receiving feedback.  An open, honest and timely flow of information and feedback keeps everyone on the team integrated and heading in the same direction.  With effective coaching, performance issues come into focus before they get out of control, information that can improve results gets communicated to the right people at the right time, and people build strong trust and better working relationships.  When teams quickly act to correct abnormal events and carefully analyze all the causes, they can also learn how to prevent them from recurring.  Prompt, thoughtful action and personal ownership adds value to customers, shareowners and the team.  Thinking and gathering more information helps us understand the intersection of people and events in a system or process of interactions and a clear view of performance of the whole system.

In this session, we will learn constructive ways to say what they think, and practice different ways to give and receive feedback from team members, customers and owners.  The emphasis is on building trust, openness and communicating effectively.  We will describe the fundamental actions leaders can use to develop a disciplined workplace where people learn from leaders to develop the deeper discipline of the whole system.  We will coach you through examples and your development of action plans to get your staff engaged in a system they own.
